Artifact 1 is a podcast about Reading Recovery. It was created to explain what Reading Recovery is and the importance of the program.
This podcast demonstrates the skills and knowledge learned throughout my classes. While at first glance a podcast seems like a very simple piece of technology, the opposite was found to be true throughout this program. Technology involves hard work and planning and cannot simply be thrown together at the last section. This especially holds true with the creation of a podcast. There is a reason that it is called producing a podcast, because indeed production is involved. Each class taken throughout this program involved this same process of producing and showed me that technology needs planning. Technology involves editing and learning how to use the appropriate medium or learning object. Podcasting involves making sure that pacing is on point, that audio is clear, and that everything said makes sense. In addition, background noise is a factor in any technology that involves audio recording and needs to be avoided. Learning how to upload each different piece of technology was also a struggle at time and something to take into consideration when planning. This also included learning how to include it in this portfolio. The process of creating this podcast and completing this program taught me a lot about instructional design and technology as a whole. It is an excellent tool that I know I will use in my own teaching.
